How Tradle works
Tradle shows you the export treemap of one mystery country — a proportional map where each rectangle is a category of merchandise exports, sized by its share of the total. Your job is to read that economic fingerprint and name the country in six guesses.
Every guess must be a real country, and each one returns three clues: the distance from your guess to the answer as the crow flies, the compass direction you would travel toward it, and a proximity score that climbs to 100% as you close in. Use a couple of well-spread early guesses to triangulate, then let distance and direction walk you onto the right country.

It is a proportional map of a country’s merchandise exports: each rectangle is a category of goods, sized by its share of the total. Read the biggest blocks first — they are the clearest fingerprint of an economy — then use the smaller ones to separate similar countries.
How do the distance and direction clues work?
After each guess we show the great-circle distance between your guess and the mystery country, the compass direction you would travel from your guess toward the answer, and a proximity score where 100% means an exact match. Triangulate with two or three guesses to close in fast.
How many guesses do you get in Tradle?
Six. Each guess must be a real country chosen from the suggestion list, and every guess returns distance, direction and proximity feedback. If you do not name the country within six tries, the answer is revealed and your streak resets.
Is there an archive of past Tradle answers?
Yes. We keep a dated archive of previous Tradle countries and their export profiles, and a new puzzle unlocks at midnight. Our unlimited practice mode serves a fresh country whenever you want more reps.
