How Pinpoint works
Pinpoint is a category-guessing trivia game. Five clue words are shown one at a time, and every one of them belongs to a single hidden category. Your job is to name that category — the sooner the better.
The clues are ordered from vaguest to most obvious. Clue 1 is intentionally broad and could fit many groups; each later clue narrows the possibilities until clue 5 is nearly a giveaway. A wrong guess simply reveals the next clue, so there is no penalty beyond a softer score — guessing on fewer clues is the whole game. Because it is trivia rather than logic, close wording counts.

How is a Pinpoint guess judged correct?
Pinpoint is trivia, not a spelling test. Your guess has to name the category the five clues share, but case, spacing and punctuation are ignored and close wording or common synonyms are accepted — so “types of bear” and its near-variants all land the same way.
Do the Pinpoint clues get easier?
Yes. Clues are revealed one at a time and ordered from vaguest to most obvious: clue 1 could fit dozens of categories, while clue 5 is close to a giveaway. Because guessing sooner scores better, the skill is naming the link before the easy clues arrive.

Today’s set is a clean example of Pinpoint’s favourite trick: hide the link in plain sight. “Sun” and “Sloth” read as ordinary words, so the vaguest clues send you hunting in every direction at once. The misdirection only holds for a moment.
